We want to wish you all a happy holiday season! Here’s our traditional Xmas mail & card:

Our renovation mode continued for a bit this year as the outside of the house got finished and it’s beautiful!! And later in the year our friend Henk built a sturdy and beautiful fence on one side of the yard.

But the biggest changes that 2019 brought us were in our work lives. Nico needs a job that is less demanding physically, but there is only so much you can do as a Registered Nurse that is not on a regular ward. He recently tried out another job for our provincial phone service for medical questions, but it wasn’t what he hoped for, so he’s back on his neuroscience ward again for now. And he’s awaiting hip surgery to become a bionic man in January!

Marlies wanted to make the full time position work and although she loved the work itself and pushed herself hard, the high pace plus the full time hours eventually made her run out of energy and her creative soul was hurting. She left in August and after a little break, she has been focusing on web design and blogging for now.

In the fall we went on a few great camping trips and a few weeks ago we were in Europe again for family visits and Christmas markets! Keep an eye on a revamped Wobben.org for new blogs (in English and Dutch) about the trip soon (you can already sign up to get updates in your inbox)! 🙂
