update 3 - Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler
I finally got our winter trip pics up as well:

We went to the Eifel again for a few days, this time to Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler (actually we were in the old historic centre of Ahrweiler), where we had never been before. It’s in the north-eastern corner of the Eifel, a bit left of the line between Cologne and Koblenz. The “red wine town” lies at the end of the Ahrtal (valley of the river Ahr) in a truly beautiful setting between hills with vineyards. Even though the weather wasn’t too good and we came down with the flu while still there, we had a good time anyway!
